    Garbage Disposal

Garbage disposals are usually pretty straightforward when it comes to replacements. They usually hold up well under normal circumstances and though there are few options for repairs, the units can be repaired easily if it is repairable. If it is leaking at the bottom, chances are that it would need to be replaced unless it is just leaking from a bad connection. Sometimes the unit may just need to be cleaned out and reset. If the blade gets damaged due to improper use, or if the unit burns out over time, the garbage disposal would need to be replaced. Other times the drain may start backing up and the disposal is not processing the food correctly. In this case there may be nothing wrong with the unit and the drain line may just be clogged. If that is the case the line would need to be cleaned out to remove any obstruction. The plumber would remove the drainpipe p-trap or j-bend assembly and clean out those pipes. Then they would power rod the drain line going all the way to the larger drain. This should restore the full flow and the line should start draining properly.

If you are looking to have a new garbage disposal install from scratch and never had asn existing one, we would have to see the existing configuration of your sink so we could get a compatible disposal or obtain the parts required to install this. We would also need to determine if this is going to be a direct plug in or if it will need to be hardwired. If it does, we would need to send out our electrician to do this. We could also install a new outlet under the sink or near it if you’d prefer.
